My dear wife’s Grandma Millie gave her this recipe for a pie crust. I know everyone thinks their’s is the best, but this one really is, and it is so easy to make!
- 2 1/2 C Flour
- 1 C Shortening (or lard)
- 1 t sugar
- 1 t salt
- 1/2 C Milk
- Combine dry ingredients.
- Mix in shortening.
- Mix in milk until it just comes together. Do not overmix.
- For easier handling, wrap in plastic wrap and put in the refigerator for an hour.
I make this in a stand mixer, which takes only a minute, then I roll it between two silicone baking sheets. No mess, no broken crust.
