Feeding the Multitude (...or just Your Neighbor) – Parts 1 and 2
On today’s show we do something a little different… we take a bite out of scripture and chew on the readings from Sunday’s Mass.
The Church reminds us – in the documents of Vatican II and in the Catechism of the Catholic Church – that the Lord feeds us at Mass with both the Sacrament of his Body and Blood and also with his Word.
This reality was certainly highlighted for me in Sunday’s readings, and I thought it would be profitable for me to share that with you today.
Please note that there are two podcast episodes embedded below: Part 1 and Part 2. I had a lot to share with you on the readings and how they pertain to our daily lives and it took me to two shows to share it all.
Sunday’s Feeding Frenzy
Sunday’s Mass readings were all about feeding and being fed. From Elisha’s multiplying food and feeding 100 people in the Second Book of Kings to Jesus feeding the 5000 in the Gospel of John, we are reminded – as the Responsorial Psalm tells us – that “the hand of the Lord feeds us; he answers all our needs.”
