Scenes from the Krewe of Push Mow Mardi Gras Parade 2016 in Abita Springs

Mardi Gras is just over a week away and it is certainly Carnival time! With some of the big parades kicking off this past weekend, we are anxiously looking forward to some of our favorites in next week’s lineup: Endymion, Thoth, Bacchus, Orpheus, Zulu and Rex.

Mama and baby were out of town this past weekend to attend the CCRNO women’s retreat in Lafayette. The three big kids and I deemed it a pizza and Nero Wolfe weekend. Plus, since parades were rolling close by, we couldn’t resist catching the Krewe of Push Mow in the bustling metropolis of Abita Springs and Olympia, which rolled Saturday night in Covington.

I did not get any photos of Olympia, but below are a number of shots I took at Push Mow.
