Food Photo Frenzy

I’m not alone!!!!

Yes, sometimes they are embarrassed. When we are in public. Yes, they. Anyone who happens to be at table with me when I whip out my camera (or iPhone) and start snapping pictures of… my food.

Is it a habit? An addiction? Some strange compulsion that drives me to snap before I eat?

I don’t know. But, I just found out that I don’t suffer alone. And neither do those who join me at table.

Whew. That is good news.

Last night I stumbled upon an article by Adam Keats about his foodie photo-taking habit. I read it and I smiled. Oh, the joy!

I particularly enjoyed the ending of the article. He lists the various reasons why, he believes, he photographs food. Here is the last reason he shares:

At the end of the day, food is a full sensory experience, most often enjoyed when shared with those around you, family that you love and friends you enjoy.  You can see food, smell food, taste food, touch food and hear food (when it’s cooking, at least).  Few other forms of socialized entertainment can connect all five of those senses.

I like that. I think it fits right in with what we are doing here at the Catholic Foodie. Don’t you?

In the spirit of spreading the joy of amateur food photography, I am sharing with you some of my food photos below. Enjoy!
