The Sacramental Principle

I read a book a number of years ago that really stuck me by it's simplicity and depth. The Privilege to Be Catholic by Fr. Oscar Lukefahr, C.M.

Michael Harrington, a diocesan priest of the Archdiocese of Boston, professed the vows of Poverty, Chastity, Obedience, and Fidelity to the Pope according to the statutes of the Institute of Jesus the Priest, a branch of the Pauline Family founded by Blessed James Alberione.

Confirmation, Reverence, & FlashForward

Archbishop Gregory M. Aymond, Archbishop of New Orleans, conferred the Sacrament of Confirmation on 78 young people in our parish Monday night. I had the pleasure, with the assistance of a number of adult leaders, of preparing these young men and women to receive the sacrament.

And I have to tell you that this was the most reverent, holy, and prayerful Confirmation liturgy I have ever attended. I was absolutely delighted to witness it.

Here is an audioboo of my thoughts concerning the liturgy... and a new TV show that has me hooked: FlashForward...
