Show notes for episode 84:

This is Jeff Young, the Catholic Foodie at catholicfoodie.com, and you are listening to episode 84 of the Catholic Foodie: A Cocktail, A Cookbook, and My 3 Favorite Prayers.

Welcome, folks, to the Catholic Foodie, where food meets faith. I am your host Jeff Young and we are going to talk about cocktails made with beer today. That’s right. Cocktails made with beer. Oh, and a bit about tailgating! So, if you are the kind of person who likes to tailgate, but doesn’t like beer, then stick around. I’ve got a few surprises for you!

I am also going to review the children’s cookbook that I had hoped to share with you last episode. It’s called Now You’re Cooking, and I think you are going to love it.

Finally, I’ve been challenged, folks. And by a friend! So we are going to talk about my 3 favorite prayers. Why don’t you think of yours too. But, don’t go away. We have all this and more right here at the Catholic Foodie, where food meets faith.

Prayer:

Jesus, Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world, bless us now gathered around this table. Bless the food we are about to eat. Bless our conversation. Bless us, most importantly, by remaining here with us. May we be mindful of your presence. And may this meal, shared together with you, help us to long with anticipation to gather around the table of your Body and your Blood. And to do so, Lord Jesus, with clean hands and pure heart so that, one day, we may enter your wedding feast – the wedding feast of the Lamb – where you live and reign forever and ever. Amen. THE CATHOLIC COOKBOOK PROJECT

As you may have heard, I am writing a cookbook. Now, this is no average cookbook. It’s a Catholic cookbook. And it’s not your average Catholic cookbook either.

Believe it or not, I will follow food throughout Salvation History.

Sound strange? Different? Unique?

Good. It’s supposed to. It’s my angle. My take. My vision.

THE PROCESS

Have you ever written a book? Are you familiar with the process? If you haven’t written a book, have you ever wondered (even marveled at!) what kind of magic must take place behind the curtain?

Here’s your chance to peek behind that curtain.

I’m inviting you to journey this process with me.

How?

I’m a podcaster as well as a writer. And I am going to podcast this book. From beginning to end. Not only do you get a chance to see how it unfolds, but you also have the opportunity to contribute, to give me your two cents. And you will be recognized for that. In a way, I’m inviting you to become a co-author.

Intrigued? [Read more...]
