Welcome, folks, to the Catholic Foodie, where food meets faith. I am your host Jeff Young and we are going to talk about cocktails made with beer today. That’s right. Cocktails made with beer. Oh, and a bit about tailgating! So, if you are the kind of person who likes to tailgate, but doesn’t like beer, then stick around. I’ve got a few surprises for you!

THE CATHOLIC COOKBOOK PROJECT

As you may have heard, I am writing a cookbook. Now, this is no average cookbook. It’s a Catholic cookbook. And it’s not your average Catholic cookbook either.

Believe it or not, I will follow food throughout Salvation History. 

Sound strange? Different? Unique?

Good. It’s supposed to. It’s my angle. My take. My vision.

On the menu today: an interview with Sarah Vabulas (the Catholic Drinkie), a "pre-announcement" of the book I'm working on, a breakfast tip, and Marcelle Bienvenu's recipe for red beans & rice.

During our Mary in the Kitchen segment this week, Sarah Reinhard reflects on the Assumption of Mary and the dinner party she hopes for in heaven.

I remember being told at the table, from time to time, that I was not an animal, and that I shouldn't eat like an animal. Well, apparently my parents were wrong.
